I'm Claire Deakin, a 44-year-old woman living in a small village near Atherstone in North Warwickshire. After taking early retirement due to ill health in 2022, I filled my newfound free time by listening to music and writing poetry.
One poem in particular caught the attention of Sam Ryder, a British singer-songwriter and voice actor, who responded with a private message thanking me for the poem. We became online friends, and he encouraged me to pursue my dream of becoming a published author. As a Christian, I believe my poetry is a way of expressing my innermost thoughts and feelings, painting a picture for readers to connect with. Each piece is unique, linked to a pivotal life event and emotion. I write what I feel in the moment, and my collection has grown to include a range of genres, broadening my audience.
Over the past year and a half, my poems have received overwhelmingly positive and emotional responses, bringing joy and hope to those struggling in life.
I've come to realize that my unique experience and perspective on life make my words relatable and inspiring to others. My ability to empathize with them fuels my writing, resonating on a spiritual level across all genres. I continue to write as a way to express myself, share my love, and connect with others in the hope of spreading positivity and hope.
