Letting go

I really need to find a way

To forget about my past

Even though I've made it through

The memories still last

I'll never be completely fine

And the damage has been done

The pain inside and the tears I've cried

But the battle has been won

I have to find the strength of will

To let it all go free

Focus on the things I’ve got

And where I want to be

I've come through many darker days

And there has been quite a few

But letting go of all the pain

Is the hardest thing to do

Haunted by the many ghosts

Of the life I used to know

I find it so hard to forget

But I have to let it go.
